Anna Maj - Head of the International Cooperation Department of the University of Białystok, took part in the meeting of academic representatives of International Cooperation Offices which was organized in Ostrava (Czech Republic), as part of the Baltic University Program (BUP) network. Over 50 universities participated in the event.
The meeting of representatives of the International Cooperation Offices of universities belonging to Baltic University Program took place for the first time in the over 30-year history of this international program. During lectures and workshops, participants discussed problems and challenges regarding the internationalization of universities and exchanged valuable experiences related to membership in Baltic University Program and European Universities or the involvement of universities in BUP activities.
In addition, the meeting created the opportunity to discuss synergies in internationalization strategies of universities participating in Baltic University Program, possibilities of financing joint ventures, including activities aimed at improving cooperation, communication and promotion at various levels - says Anna Maj - Head of the International Cooperation Department of the University of Białystok.
Anna Maj - Head of the International Cooperation Department adds that the knowledge collected during the meeting will be the basis for creating a new Baltic University Program strategy which is to be developed in 2025.
The Baltic University Program (BUP) is one of the largest international academic networks that brings together over 100 universities from 10 countries in the Baltic Sea region. At the beginning of 2024, the University of Białystok joined the Baltic University Program. The membership agreement enables UwB employees, students and doctoral students to participate in, among others: in projects, courses and scientific conferences organized by BUP partners.
