Applied Chemistry – new in English in the offer of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Białystok

Applied Chemistry

The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Białystok has prepared a new proposal for full-time second-cycle studies. This is Applied Chemistry - a field of study taught in English. Its graduates will be prepared to work in enterprises and institutions, including: with a biotechnological, pharmaceutical or cosmetic profile, in any European country or outside Europe. An additional advantage of the new field is the lack of fees for studies in a foreign language.

Students of Applied Chemistry will acquire universal and practical competences in the field of chemistry. The study program places great emphasis on laboratory classes, which guarantee the acquisition of professional skills that are highly valued on the labor market.

Graduates will gain employment opportunities in enterprises, organizations and public institutions whose activities involve the use of chemicals. These are scientific, research and development, diagnostic and process laboratories in biotechnological, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and environmental protection institutions but also in the chemical industry and administration.

The new course is addressed to both candidates from Poland and abroad.

- The Applied Chemistry study program includes a number of issues in the field of modern chemistry, based on the fundamentals of exact and natural sciences, allowing you to work in any country - also outside Europe. Students taking up this field of study will have two specialization paths to choose from: Chemical Analysis or Chemistry of Materials. This will allow them to deepen their knowledge in line with their interests, while preparing them for the requirements of the labor market - says prof. Joanna Karpińska, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Białystok. Education in this field will be provided by research and research-didactic employees of the Faculty of Chemistry and other faculties of the University of Białystok which will serve to present the results of their research, promote faculties and universities, but also the city of Białystok and the entire region. This is due to the fact that few universities offer studies in this field, based on the actual substantive competences of research or research and teaching staff related to applied chemistry, conducted in English. An additional advantage of the offered course is the lack of fees for studies in a foreign language which should be an incentive not only for foreigners but also for Polish candidates - adds the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Białystok.

The Faculty of Chemistry also offers 4 other fields of study. These include chemistry (first and second cycle studies) and environmental quality and safety (first cycle studies) and forensic and forensic chemistry (second cycle studies).
