Between June 3rd, 2024 and June 7th, 2024, the largest university in Podlasie region hosted International Staff Week, organized by the International Cooperation Office of the University of Bialystok. The event was attended by university staff from Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Latvia and Germany.
International Staff Week was dedicated to people who work with foreign students and employees, as well as those who are interested in the internationalization of higher education.
Participants had the opportunity to present their universities and exchange good practices. In addition, they took part in interesting workshops conducted by Małgorzata Wenclik, Ph.D. (Faculty of Law) entitled "Cooperation of universities with the environment", as well as Maciej Bialous, Ph.D (Faculty of Sociology), who presented "Storytelling as a tool for building capacity for intercultural cooperation".
The guests had a tour through the University’s campus, including the Prof. A. Myrcha University Nature Center.
As part of the "Study in Bialystok" initiative, together with the participants of International Week Staff Week at the Medical University of Bialystok, the guests also visited the University Planetarium, where they watched the movies: "On the Wings of Dreams" and "Explore" in English. There was also a joint tour of the Branicki Palace with the Museum of the History of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as a guided tour of Bialystok.
To introduce the cultural and natural values of the Podlasie region, the participants of the International Staff Week at University of Bialystok had the opportunity to see the Land of Open Shutters and visit the Bialowieza National Park.
The International Staff Week ended with a meeting with UwB Vice – Rector for science and international cooperation Prof. Izabela Swiecicka.
