The Department of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Białystok – an inter-faculty unit whose main task is to teach physical education and sport. The Centre, together with the University Club AZS UwB also conducts optional sports activities addressed to students and university employees.
There are several sections to choose from, including swimming, volleyball, athletics, judo, table tennis, basketball, m.in. The seat of the unit is the Sports Hall which was built at Świerkowa Street in Białystok, in the vicinity of the Faculty of Educational Sciences.
This is the first modern sports facility of the University of Białystok. The total area of all rooms is over 2.5 thousand sqm. There are: a full-size main arena with stands, an aerobics room, a gym, changing rooms, rooms for referees, coaches and teachers.
The hall can be used for volleyball, basketball or handball matches.
