The Jerzy Giedroyc University Library consists of the Main Library and a network of specialized libraries operating at the following faculties: Chemistry Library, Economics Library, Philology Library, Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Pedagogical Library and Law Library, as well as the Libraries of the Faculty of Biology, the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Mathematics.
From 2021, the Main Library operates in a modern building located on the UwB campus, adapted to its needs. In addition to the lending library and other agencies, there is also a Reading Room with Free Access to the collections. The university's Repository is also located here.
The University Library collects Polish and foreign literature in the scope corresponding to the needs of the university, primarily in the field of humanities: philosophy, logic, history, religious studies, Catholic and Orthodox theology, sociology, law, philological sciences (including Belarusian studies), pedagogy and psychology, economics and biological and exact sciences.
Its collection, numbering approximately one million volumes, can be used by students, doctoral students and employees of the University of Białystok, as well as all interested readers.
