On February 24, an Orientation Meeting for International students who began their studies in the summer semester was held at the University of Bialystok. The event was attended by 20 students from various countries.

Visit of a Delegation from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange to the University of Białystok

On 15–16 December 2025, the University of Białystok hosted a delegation from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). The visit focused on issues related to the internationalisation of higher education and the role played in this process by programmes supporting academic mobility, research cooperation and the development of international research networks.

A Quarter Century after Giedroyc: Symposium on Poland’s Strategy for the Coming Decades Held at the University of Białystok

Poland’s foreign policy 25 years after the death of the editor of Kultura, Polish–Ukrainian and Polish–Russian relations, Eastern Europe in Poland’s strategic thinking, as well as the legacy of Jerzy Giedroyc were among the topics discussed by participants of the symposium “A Quarter Century after Giedroyc: Poland’s Strategy for the Coming Decades”.

Edu&Science Meetings’ educational and science mission in Vietnam with the participation of representatives of the University of Bialystok

From 30 October to 4 November 2025, Chi Minh City and Hanoi hosted the Edu&Science Meetings – Vietnam 2025 educational and scientific mission, organised by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Hanoi and Vietnamese partner universities. The event was attended by representatives of 12 Polish universities, including the University of Bialystok.

The University of Białystok Signs the Magna Charta Universitatum

On 13 November 2025, a ceremonial signing of the Magna Charta Universitatum took place in London, within the prestigious walls of King’s College London. This is one of the most important documents of the international academic community, setting out the fundamental principles on which the mission of universities should be based. On behalf of the University of Białystok, the document was signed by Dr hab. Agnieszka Piekutowska, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation.

International Staff Week at the University of Białystok 2025

It was an excellent opportunity to strengthen international cooperation, share experiences and good practices. From May 26 to 30 this year, the International Cooperation Office of the University of Białystok organized the International Staff Week. Representatives of partner universities from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Vietnam, Ukraine, Montenegro, Kosovo and Taiwan visited the University of Białystok.

Prof. Mariusz Popławski, Rector of the University of Białystok, took part in the ceremony of awarding Professor Francis Fukuyama the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, which took place on Friday, May 16th.

Professor Piotr Hofmański Honorary Doctor of the University of Białystok

An outstanding scientist and lawyer of international renown, judge and President of the International Criminal Court in The Hague in the years 2021-2024, Professor Piotr Józef Hofmański received the title of doctor honoris causa from the University of Białystok on Friday, April 4, 2025. He is the 24th person to whom the Senate of the largest university in Podlasie has awarded this dignity.

Dr Ewa Kaźmierczyk with the Main Prize of the Association of Higher Education Publishers

Dr Ewa Kaźmierczyk’s monograph „The Fallen Capital. Society and Space of Kraków in 18th Century” won the Main Prize of the Association of Higher Education Publishers named after Father Edward Pudełko during the Poznań Book Fair 2025.

Dr hab. Elżbieta Regulska from the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Białystok received the individual Award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for significant achievements in the field of scientific activity. She received the award on February 19 this year during the Gala of Polish Science in Toruń.

Applied Chemistry – new in English in the offer of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Białystok

The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Białystok has prepared a new proposal for full-time second-cycle studies. This is Applied Chemistry - a field of study taught in English. Its graduates will be prepared to work in enterprises and institutions, including: with a biotechnological, pharmaceutical or cosmetic profile, in any European country or outside Europe.

Belarusian ethnophilology - a new field of study offered by the Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok

The Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok is launching a new field of study for full-time first-cycle studies: Belarusian ethnophilology. Graduates of these studies will be able to work, among others: in the media, publishing houses, cultural institutions and public administration. The new field of study will be included in this year's recruitment offer of the University of Białystok.

Innovative research on antibiotic resistance with the participation of UwB scientists

The team from the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Białystok is among an international group of scientists who innovative reseach opens new possibilities for analyzing the spread of antibiotic resistance in bacteria using artificial intelligence. The results of this research were published in the journal Frontiers in Genetics.
